Today
Woke up today feeling like I was in an oven. It’s funny weather – sunny, but with this hot, hot wind.
Perfect laundry drying day! (oh, how domestic of me)
Still, it seems most days that I wash laundry and hang it out to dry, it rains. So given that I either want dry laundry OR rain (it’s so dry here my grass is dieing) I figure it’s the perfect day for me to wash towels.
My laundry. As the bottles may suggest, I’m a pack-rat. And I ESPECIALLY can’t throw away bottles.
It’s exciting stuff at my house, I can tell you!
To top off the weird hot weather, the sky is all grey with…smoke? Dust? Not sure, but it looks all weird and dirty and it makes the light look funny colours:
In other (and entirely unrelated) dirty little scavenger news, as Seth and I drove home from buying some paint last night, I found this fantastic chair left out for the garbage men.
Well! There’s no way I was sharing it with the garbage men, so I scurried out under the cover of near darkness (I don’t want my neighbours seeing me steal their garbage, it’s creepy) and whisked it back into the house before a single curtain could even twitch.
I give you the old ugly thingy chair, complete with Kitty McShitty as a model:
Given that I’ve just put all cast iron handles on the stuff in my bedroom (wardrobe, drawers) the old iron will fit in perfectly, and that faded blue-jade of the cover is just about my favourite colour right now.
AND it’s useful! My bed is super high – I like it that way – but it does mean I have nowhere to sit while doing up my shoelaces. So this shall be my shoelaces chair.
